About the Author & Illustrator

Jill L. Duhon author

Jill L. Duhon has taught primarily in gifted enrichment programs for accelerated students for thirty-three years. Newly retired, she gives her students credit for her creative inspirations and gratitude to her husband for choosing beekeeping as a hobby. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

A Perfect Place to Bee, Jill’s first children’s book, was written with a message of unity illustrating the importance of sharing our unique gifts for the good of others. She plans to continue to write for children using universal themes that are relevant to all audiences.

Jill is married to her husband, Lowell Duhon and is the mother of two children, Manny and Elise. She enjoys painting, photography, and visiting national parks with her family.

Olivia LeBlanc illustrator

Olivia is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana whose passion for art started when she was able to hold a crayon. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a BA in art education. She has taught elementary and middle school art for the past six years. In addition to teaching, Olivia has been a commissioned artist since the age of ten.

She finds inspiration for art in everyday life-especially in nature. Art has always been therapeutic to her and has served as an escape. She is a strong believer that art can heal, communicate, and connect people in ways that sometimes words can’t.

Everyone has unique gifts.
